3D TV WITHOUT GLASSES DEVELOPED BY SONY

The picture quality on 3D TV is really good but some people hate the fact the way the 3D glasses sit over their noses. Wouldn’t it be great to have 3D TV without glasses? Recently we heard that Toshiba was developing 3D TV without glasses and now it seems that Sony too is getting in to the act. So there is a competition now between the two brands regarding who is going to make the 3D TV without specs first. The big problem with this technology is that the head movement has to be monitored and the quality can be affected if you move your head too much. The cost of making a 3D TV without glasses is very big now and it will not be viable for regular TV consumers. The manufacturers are working hard to find cheaper alternatives.

There are 3D TV sets in the market right now but they need glasses all the time. Such panels are increasingly getting popular in living rooms thanks to their awesome entertainment quotient. The consumers too have welcomed the new piece of technology with open arms. Sony is expecting to sell about 15 million LCD panels for the 2011 out of which 2.5 million will be 3D products.

There is 3D TV without glasses out there but they are not used in homes. Such displays are mainly used in store displays. For watching it, the viewer needs to stand in a particular spot for getting the 3D effect and the image quality too is not as good as what you get by using the glasses. But some people are waiting for the 3D TV without glasses as they say that watching the TV without glasses is much more convenient. Manufacturers say that pricing concerns are making it difficult to announce a release date for these new TVs.
