HTC EVO 4G DETAILS

Earlier we have announced that HTC has introduced the first WiMAX phone in the US of A. Prior to its announcement the HTC Evo 4G was known as the HTC Supersonic, while its specs have changed a little, but only in the good way, however, we’ll talk about that later. I’m here to let you know that the HTC Evo release date is summer of 2010. We already knew that because Sprint said many times that the first 4G phone is coming exactly during that period.

The HTC Evo 4G features:

    a 4.3-inch 800×480 capacitive TFT touchscreen with multitouch capabilities out of the box;

    Android 2.1 OS with HTC Sense UI;

    8-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording;

    1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video conferences;

    1GB of flash memory where you can install apps;

    512MB RAM;

    1GHz Snapdragon processor;

    802.11b/g WiFi;

    GPS/aGPS with free turn-by-turn navigation;

    Bluetooth 2.1 A2DP + EDR;

    4G WiMAX technology / 3G EV-DO REV A;

    FM Radio;

    HDMI out port;

    3.5mm headset jack;

    microUSB port;

    8GB microSD card out of the box (expandable up to 32GB);

    Digital compass, G-sensor, Proximity sensor, and a Light Sensor;

    1500mAh battery;

    Kickstand on its back.

This is the real Android-version of the HTC HD2, only miles better. The HTC Sense UI is the latest version with FriendStream and Helicopter view, the battery is bigger, the processor is a newer version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon: QSD8650 (up from QSD8250), the camera is bigger and support HD recording and so on.

The HTC Evo 4G measures 4.8″ x 2.6″ x .5″, while weighing 6 ounces. It will only be available at Sprint as of this summer for an unknown price, even though you shouldn’t expect this beauty to cost more than $200 while agreeing for the right contract plan. Until the HTC Supersonic aka EVO becomes available, you can check out the gallery below. Please let us know if you’ll buy this beauty especially considering the fact that Sprint has extended its 4G network in seven more markets and that they’ll expand it further during 2010.
